The American Planning Association (APA) supports planners nationwide in creating safe, equitable, and resilient communities. Through original and applied research, APA’s Research Department advances practices that promote long-term community resilience through actionable guidance on planning for the impacts of climate change and natural hazards.
As a member of the Digital Coast Partnership, APA is able to ensure that its members in coastal communities have the tools and resources they need to address challenges related to coastal growth management, hazard mitigation, and resilience, and to orient these challenges within the context of holistic, comprehensive, and community-led planning. APA works with Digital Coast partners to develop and share new resources and build partnerships between planners and allied professionals.
The APA Knowledge Center offers easy access to e-learning, planners’ training service courses, workshops, and learning opportunities at conferences.
